Out! Raleigh 2015

With a lineup of more sponsors like Red Hat, PNC Bank, Wells Fargo, and Legends Nightclub, 2015 was truly a legendary year for the festival. America’s favorite Dragapella Quartet the Kinsey Sicks headlined the festival stage with a show stopping performance that wreaked of talent. Legendary. Also taking the stage that year in addition to the Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus, the Common Woman Chorus lended their voices to uplift our community. Their name is derived from a Judy Grahn poem that reads in part “A common woman is as common as a common loaf of bread… and will rise!”. The goddaughter of one the Temptations, Shadina also dazzled the festival goers that year with her own legendary performance.

The LGBT Center tent was right in the middle to provide festival goers with loads of information, the good ol’ Out! Raleigh guides, and smiles galore.

There were tons of food trucks and plenty of sights and smells for the whole family to enjoy in 2015. Scott Hoar, Matt Wood, Holly Owens and Justin Thigpen spearheaded an awesome 5th year celebration of the festival. It truly grew from the inaugural year, and the growth was on full display.

Volunteers donned red that year and were absolutely queer! Cheers!
